[Charity Hardesty.FTW] [BrÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂøderbund WFT Vol. 1, Ed. 1, Tree #5938, Date of Import: 27 May 2002] 9/26/91 Terri Klaiber reported that Alex. C. Smith died 1925 but theRidge Avenue house stayed in his name until transferred to Margaret Smithin 1929 (City Directory). The house number was originally 318 RidgeAvenue but it was changed to 312 in 1925 (Note: could this have been oneof the other houses he was said to have owned?)In 1935 the number wasagain changed, this time to 1212. There are six Culbertsons buried in Greenwood Cemetery Section N 4 mileseast of Wheeling on the National Road. I never was able to determine whoCulberson was in ACSmith's name... maybe this could prove to be a lead. 10/94- Paul Van Valkenburgh sent copy of certificate of thanks to PrivateAlex Smith, Company "A" 159th Regiment Ohio National Guard, which served100 days, engaged in the Shenandoah Valley, on the Peninsula, on theJames River, around Petersburg and Richmond, the Battle of Monocacy, andin the entrenchments of Washington. Proclamation signed Dec 15, 1864. |
