Served in the 1914-18 war as a 2nd Lt. in the RAMC. Died as a result ofa hea d injury sustained in a riding accident near Cromer Beach Station.Yvonne (niec e) remembers going to visit him in Cromer Cottage Hospitalwhere he died.
Yvonne says that he was in the RASC, but his entry on the 1914-18 WarMemorial a t Nunhead Cemetery confirms him as RAMC, yet gives his date ofdeath as 29th Nov ember 1918.
Nunhead Cemetery records show George as being in the Army Service Corps.He i s buried in grave no: 16147/139SQ at Nunhead Cemetery, South London.
He is also refered to as Elvers, not Elvin
