At the time of her marriage to John James, Elizabeth is shown as livingin Deane, Lancashire. At the time of writing this (May 1999), I have noidea why Elizabeth would have moved from Alnwick, Northumberland toDeane, Lancashire. In July 1999, Harry Woodward (71 years) who is the great nephew ofElizabeth told me that Elizabeth was in fact living at Primrose Farm,Broughton when she married John James. Why she stated Deane, Lancashireon her marriage certificate is unknown. He told me that the family hadbeen split up after a farm fire at Harbottle, Northumberland and a numberof the children had gone into service, with a number of them emigratingto Australia. He also told me that John James was not only the groom at his wedding toElizabeth, but also the bellringer!
