Deceased had for some time suffered froman internal cancer, and in the previous week he visited Leeds Infirmaryfor the purpose of undergoing an operation. The operation was partiallyperformed, but unfortunately, the disease had advanced too far for humanskill to avail, and a couple of days later Mr. Hardisty succumbed to hismalady. Deceased was a well-known member of an old family of blacksmiths- the Hardistys of Broughton and Skipton - and he was highly esteemed bya large number of friends, many of whom attended the internment atWaltonwrays Cemetry. John James rang the bell at the curch at his own wedding to Elizabeth. John James was born to Ann Hardacre, father not registered. |
